Ways We Fund our Ministries Through Congregational Giving
The main way we support the ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Florida is through our Disciples Mission Fund. Disciples Mission Fund is a ministry of giving that links congregations, Regional Church, General Church, and institutions of higher education in the mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. Disciples Mission Fund giving is received by local congregations and sent to the General Church Finance Council to support the worldwide mission of the church. The General Church, Regional Church, and institutions of higher education are allocated a percentage of the total Disciples Mission Fund giving. The Christian Church in Florida receives 47% of the Disciples Mission Fund giving that is collected in the Region of Florida which accounts for 25% of the total Regional Church annual budget.
Through Disciples Mission Fund giving we are able to accomplish ministry that no single church, region, or general ministry could ever dream of doing alone. By giving to Disciples Mission Fund, each congregation, individual, and family contributes to the total ministry of the church in the United States, Canada, and international. Congregations are encouraged to make Disciples Mission Fund part of their annual budget and give the tithe of the tithe to support the church’s total ministry. |
